Our Milestones @ 4 Years Old
The Me-Suite is four years old this week! I researched what the average four-year-old should be accomplishing at this stage in their development. Here is The Me-Suite report card against those developmental milestones.
Talking - Communication and Language Development
• Tells stories and recalls parts of stories. We help others tell their unique stories every day.
• Says first and last name. Yes, we’ve gotten pretty good at this.
• Speaks in complete sentences. Yep.
Interacting - Social and Emotional Development
• Plays cooperatively with others. One of our core values is Respect.
• Negotiates solutions to conflicts. Yes, always for the clients.
• Seeks new experiences. Another core value is Curiosity.
Thinking - Cognitive Development
• Understands time. Now more than ever.
• Uses scissors. Lots of cutting and pasting.
• Draws a person with two to four body parts. No, but this sounds like fun.
Moving - Physical or Motor Development
• Catches a bounced ball most of the time. Sits on yoga ball at desk and tries not to fall off.
• Hops and stands on one foot for a few seconds. Only if stepping on a hair ball.
• Pours beverages and mashes own food. Yes, often.
