Travel Changes a Person

One perk that kept me in management consulting for 20 years was access to the travel points.

On Earth Day, I reflect on the eco-travel experiences I’ve been privileged to absorb.  From my travel to 42+ countries, Machu Picchu, Patagonia, Cappadocia, Iceland, South African Safari, Costa Rica, Belize rank in the top.  But holding steady at #1 is celebrating birthday #40 while navigating the Galapagos Islands.

You’re never the same after you’ve experienced a slice of the world so different from your own.  Your brain is rewired as you gain different perspectives, connect new dots and activate your senses in novel ways.

I wonder where on earth I’ll go next.  I want to go because travel changes a person, and change is good--just not climate change.

Today, I’m re-reading our old travel diary from the Galapagos trip. Here are a few Galapagos photo faves.

Happy Earth Day.
