It's Midyear--Do You Know Where You Are?

Neuroscience shows we are most patient when there's high confidence in a future reward.

If your performance feedback has been mysterious thus far, ask direct questions of your mentors and managers.

  • "How am I doing at mid year?"

  • "What is my expected promotion timing based on what you see today?"

  • “What do you recommend I prioritize for the second half of the year?”

  • “How have you seen me progressing on the goals we agreed to at the beginning of the year.”

You won’t wait patiently at work if you don’t know what you’re waiting for.

No one cares about your career more than you do, so own it.
